Choose coverage for the moments that matter

During our benefits re-enrollment period each spring, you get to choose from different levels of coverage and protection — so you can get the right fit for you and your family.

Get ready! Re-enroll between May 19 and May 30 on the For Your Benefit portal

If you need help choosing your coverage, check out the decision guides to see what others are selecting and what’s driving their decisions.

Reminder! Re-enrollment is your only chance to choose benefits for the 2025/2026 plan year, unless you have an eligible life event such as getting married or divorced or having a baby.

If you don’t re-enroll, you will receive the same coverage for health care, dental care and optional insurance as last year.

Important! You have exactly 548 days from the service date to submit your Proof of Claim to Sun Life for medical and dental services.

To learn more, visit mysunlife.ca or call 1-888-757-7427 to speak to a Sun Life representative.

We're excited to announce several improvements to your benefits coverage:

Benefit enhancements

New Coverage Addition: Contraceptives

We are pleased to announce the recent addition of long-acting reversible contraceptive implants coverage under Options 2, 3, and 4 of our Drug Coverage program, expanding our commitment to comprehensive healthcare support.

New Virtual Care Service

Lumino Health Virtual Care, provided by Dialogue, is being introduced as a new virtual care service. This service will be accessible to all employees enrolled in Extended Health Care (EHC). Through this platform, you can connect with healthcare providers through chat, audio, or video consultations for non-emergency care needs. Remember, Lumino Virtual Health Care also offers virtual pharmacy services with convenient prescription delivery right to your home. Click here to learn more.

Enhanced Coverage Improvements

Hearing Aids

Several improvements have been made to coverage benefits. For hearing aids, we've significantly increased coverage across all options. Option 2 now provides $3,000 in coverage where previously there was none. Option 3 has been increased to $4,000 from $500, and Option 4 now offers $5,000, up from $750. Additionally, the frequency for hearing aid replacement has been improved to once every 3 years, reduced from the previous 5-year wait period.

Vision Care

Vision care coverage has been enhanced to include one exam per year at a reasonable and customary cost (revised periodically), with 100% coverage across all options. This is an improvement from the previous annual fixed limit of $100.

Dental Plan Improvements

Basic Services

The dental plan has received substantial improvements. Basic Services coinsurance levels have increased across multiple options: Option 2 is now at 70% (up from 60%), Option 3 at 80% (up from 70%), and Option 4 at 90% (up from 80%).

Major Services

For Major Services, coinsurance levels have also improved. Option 3 now offers 60% coverage (increased from 50%), and Option 4 provides 70% coverage (up from 60%). Annual maximums have been increased as well, with Option 3 now at $2,000 (previously $1,500) and Option 4 at $2,500 (previously $2,000). A notable addition is the inclusion of dental implants under Major Services coverage.

Flex Pricing Update

Regarding Flex Pricing, Option 3 Medical and Dental will now require a nominal contribution starting this year. An updated Flex Pricing schedule will be provided in the near future.

These comprehensive enhancements demonstrate our ongoing commitment to providing competitive benefits, developed in response to employee feedback and market benchmarking analysis.

Rates for health, dental and LTD

We are constantly striving to keep the plan as comprehensive and affordable as possible for our employees.

Health and dental

This year, there will be an increase to health and dental rates. This is due to our claim experience from last year — the more claims that are submitted to the plan, the higher the increase in rates the following year.

While Johnson & Johnson absorbs the rate increase and enhances flex credits for benefit selection, your contribution may increase based on your chosen options.

Long-term disability (LTD)

As a reminder, Johnson & Johnson covers the full cost of your basic LTD benefit. This year, rates will not increase if you have selected the “buy-up option” which provides a greater LTD benefit and requires employees to share a portion of the cost.

To see how these changes affect you, we encourage you to visit the re-enrollment tool on the For Your Benefit portal   between May 19 and May 30.

Do you need to update your pension and savings choices?

As a reminder, you can adjust your Pension & Savings Program choices twice each year:

During pension enrollment in December
During benefits enrollment in May

You have a limited-time opportunity to review the choices you made and make any adjustments for the remainder of the year! Any adjustments that you make to your Pension & Savings Program choices will take effect July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026.
